Client brief

The client sought a tailored, unique design that moved away from standard loft conversions. Key priorities included a contemporary aesthetic that didn't sacrifice functionality, specifically requesting a full-height shower area and integrated storage solutions that worked in harmony with the room’s slanted ceilings.

The process

Our Richmond designer focused on "spatial elevation," navigating the unusual angles of the loft to ensure the most frequent-use areas, like the shower and basin, retained maximum headroom. By combining a "classic luxury" tile palette with a "modern pop" of colour in the shower zone, we were able to create a design that felt expansive and airy, successfully turning the architectural constraints of the roofline into a bespoke design feature.

What we did

Opulent Materiality: Specified Marmo Calacatta Gold tiles paired with JTP Vos brushed brass hardware to create a warm, high-end base for the room.

Vibrant Zonal Contrast: Introduced Fade Mint feature tiles within the shower space, adding a refreshing contemporary twist to the classic marble palette.

Bespoke Glazing: Sourced a custom-made shower glass door from The ShowerLab, specifically engineered to fit the unique pitch of the loft ceiling.

Sleek Storage Integration: Integrated a Crosswater Glide II basin and vanity unit, providing ample storage with a minimalist profile that complements the room’s clean lines.

Full-Height Engineering: Strategically positioned the shower at the highest point of the pitch to ensure a full-height experience, successfully overcoming common loft design limitations.
