Embarking on a bathroom remodelling journey can feel overwhelming, but preparation is often the key to success and this is no different with a bathroom renovation project. The designers over at our Richmond Showroom have shared their top tips to help you start your bathroom journey.

1. Take time to be inspired
“Take time to be inspired and figure out what you like (and don’t like) before you start designing” is the advice Stuart Wetherall, Senior Design Consultant and Showroom Manager, would give anyone who is ready to book their design consultation with us. It is important to gather some ideas together and perhaps even create a mood board to help you on your way. “Our website Portfolio, Houzz and Pinterest pages can be useful for inspiration if you’re unsure on what you like.” He adds.

2. Choose your ideal layout first
One of the most important things to consider in a bathroom is the layout. “Choose your ideal layout before choosing products” is a great piece of advice shared by Chris Argles, Senior Design Consultant. Deciding where you’re going to position everything will allow you to determine what products you can fit in the space. If you’re adapting an existing layout, remember that there are certain things like the positioning of your soil pipe that can limit your possibilities, so it is advisable to speak with a professional to discuss your options.

3. Explore different options
Renovating your bathroom is a big commitment and one that should be thoroughly thought through.. “The best tip I have for people is to gather as much inspiration as possible” says Jacob Dean, Senior Design Consultant. When designing your bathroom, “it can be useful to explore a few options to make sure you’re 100% happy and committed to your new bathroom” he adds. We have developed our own 3D design technology that can help you visualise your dream bathroom, make real time changes and explore different options with the click of a few buttons. You can even view your design in virtual reality to make sure the bathroom is exactly what you want it to be before making the commitment.

4. Don’t second guess yourself
While we always encourage customers to explore different design options, some people can have a difficult time making a decision when faced with too many choices, so it is important to not explore other options just for the sake of it. A professional designer can help you to narrow your options down and ensure you make the right choices. “Don’t second guess your initial style and product preferences, we usually end up back there anyway” is what Hisham Naji, Senior Design Consultant, advises.
