The Altea Suite

The client wanted to transform their family bathroom into a bright, timeless sanctuary infused with subtle Mediterranean charm and crisp architectural detail. The brief required a versatile multi-functional layout capable of accommodating both a generous soaking bath and an overhead shower without cluttering the room. Key priorities included introducing personality through patterned floor tiling, integrating ample drawer and concealed mirror storage, creating an illuminated display alcove, and specifying durable polished stainless steel and chrome fittings throughout.

We developed a light-enhancing spatial plan centred on crisp lines, thoughtful storage, and decorative interest. To establish a distinctive character, we specified European Tiles Mediterraneo Altea patterned tiles across the floor, providing a graphic, warm foundation. This was balanced with European Tiles Inside Peak 60x120cm stone-effect porcelain running full-height around the bath and mid-height around the room for an understated architectural datum. We designed a stud wall to conceal the toilet cistern while carving out an open display niche above, back-lit with warm TLW LED tape for evening ambiance. In the bathing zone, we specified a Betteocean steel bath paired with a Crosswater Asura folding screen that tucks neatly away to preserve space. The wash zone was anchored by a freestanding Roper Rhodes Fairmont vanity customised with black Washington knobs, paired with a recessed HiB Vanquish illuminated mirror cabinet and polished stainless steel Ava Trend brassware.

Freestanding Vanity Station & Recessed Mirror: Specified and supplied a Roper Rhodes Fairmont 800mm freestanding unit in White with a Fairmont ceramic basin, customised with grey legs and black Washington knobs. Designed the wall opening for a recessed HiB Vanquish 80 illuminated mirror cabinet, complemented by an Ava Trend monobloc basin mixer in polished stainless steel.

Bathing & Shower Solution: Supplied a Betteocean 1700x750mm steel bath with universal feet and an extended overflow filler, a Crosswater Asura fully folding chrome bath screen, and an Ava Trend 3-way thermostatic valve powering a 250mm shower head and integrated hand shower.

Feature Flooring & Wall Specification: Curated the tile scheme, specifying European Tiles Mediterraneo Altea 20x20cm patterned floor tiles alongside European Tiles Inside Peak 60x120cm matt porcelain tiles with Mapei Moon White grout for walls and bath cladding.

Concealed WC & Architectural Niche: Specified a Faeber Zero rimless back-to-wall toilet pan with a soft-close seat, an Oli concealed cistern, and a Blink polished chrome flush plate. Designed the recessed display alcove fitted with TLW Haze warm white LED tape and driver.
