Client brief

The goal was to move away from clinical modernism and create a family bathroom with a "collected" feel. The client wanted to blend traditional colour palettes, specifically deep greens and warm stone, with bold geometric patterns and high-end metallic finishes to achieve a boutique hotel aesthetic.

The process

To prevent the patterned floor from feeling overwhelming, our designer used Slate Stone Sand tiles to wrap the walls in a soft, monochromatic envelope. This neutral backdrop allows the Charme floor tiles and the sage green vanity to stand out as the primary design statements. We utilised recessed lighting and a large mirrored cabinet to keep the space feeling open, while the uniform use of brushed brass across all hardware provides a consistent, luxurious thread throughout the room.

What we did

Patterned Floor Canvas: Installed European Tiles Charme tiles, creating a striking geometric foundation that adds immediate character and a nod to traditional encaustic styles.

Sandstone Wall Wrap: Used European Tiles Slate Stone Sand matte tiles for a natural, grounded backdrop that balances the intricate patterns below.

Sage Green Focal Point: Anchored the space with a deep green vanity unit, accented by Saneux York brushed brass handles for a sophisticated, textured look.

Honeyed Metallic Suite: Outfitted the entire bathroom with Ava Trend brushed brass fixtures, including the rainfall shower, basin mixer, and even the overflow filler for a seamless metallic theme.

Dual-Purpose Bathing Zone: Selected a Bette Ocean bath paired with a Crosswater Asura hinged brass screen, offering the versatility of a family bath with the sleek feel of a high-end shower.

Recessed Storage and Light: Integrated a Faeber Edge LED mirror cabinet, providing three doors of steam-free storage that reflects light and makes the room appear double its size.
