Client brief

The objective for this master en-suite was to create a restorative, spa-like sanctuary that felt seamlessly integrated into the home's classic architecture. A primary goal was to include a professional-grade steam shower alongside a spacious double-ended bath for ultimate relaxation. The client preferred a refined palette of white marble and polished chrome to keep the large room feeling light, airy, and expansive.

The process

Our designer utilised "tonal layering" with large-format marble tiles and intricate mosaic work to create visual depth within a neutral, minimalist palette. We specified a bespoke glass enclosure to house the specialised steam system, ensuring the room maintained an open feel while effectively containing the heat and moisture. To maximise the room's flow, we paired a double-ended inset bath with a level-access shower tray, creating a seamless and safe transition between the bathing and showering zones.

What we did

Bespoke Steam Enclosure: Sourced a Sauna 360 steam generator paired with a Showerlab bespoke glass enclosure, transforming the shower into a private, professional-grade spa retreat.

Artistic Marble Detailing: Wrapped the space in European Tiles Pietra Statuarietto, using an intricate basket weave mosaic on the shower floor to add an artistic, tactile element to the design.

Restorative Bath Centerpiece: Installed a Bette Starlet double-ended bath with a classic white surround that perfectly matches the room's traditional wall paneling.

Classic Chrome Hardware: Outfitted the vanity and shower with Booth & Co. fixtures in chrome and white, including a traditional 3-hole basin mixer and a large 200mm rainfall shower head.

Heritage Sanitaryware: Integrated a classic Burlington toilet to complement the home’s period-style architecture and the room's decorative wood paneling.

Architectural Heating: Included a Vogue Ballerina towel radiator, providing both functional warmth and a classic aesthetic anchor between the bath and shower.

I worked with bathrooms by design in Fulham over the course of several months for my home renovation. We designed a total of three full bathrooms including our beautiful primary suite bathroom complete with steam shower. Nina, in the Fulham showroom, did a great job of following my briefs and I recommend this company highly. Though the process took some time, it was still much easier and less stressful than doing it on my own.
